Her mouth is moving so as I always say she's lying or misrepresenting the facts. Bachmann stars in Coral Ridge Ministries Socialism: A Clear and Present Danger. Bachmann in a ridiculous documentary by Christian supremacist group - Big surprise.
In the first part of the video, Bachmann says that Americans should pay taxes because Jesus said so, but only 10 percent.
"What Jesus said, ‘Render to Caesar that which is Caesar’s, and render unto God that which is God’s,’ so there certainly is a place for us to pay taxes to government. That’s legitimate. We should do that as Jesus instructs," she said.
She continued, "But we render to God that which is God’s and the Bible calls for, approximately we are thinking of tithe, maybe 10 percent that we are giving to God, but beyond that we also give to charity. Jesus didn’t ask government to be the charity; he asks the the individual and the church to be charitable."
I'm by no means a biblical scholar , but I think this like everything else that comes out of her mouth is absolutely absurd.
It doesn't stop there. The hypocrisy grows.
This absurd documentary ends with this Bachmann wisdom
Nations either choose to grow or they choose to decline. That's the crossroads America is on
Bachmann also in the documentary says
We’ve become indentured servants to the government. That’s not what the founders envisioned for us," she said. "They envisioned that we would work for ourselves, for our families, grow the nation. The new view that government has of those of us who are citizens is that now we exist to serve government. We need to reverse course so we can get back to freedom."
Indentured servants? - Michele, The government pays you $174,000 a year to essentially be a mouthpiece for stupidity and self-promotion. I'm pretty sure that's not what the founding fathers intended. I think paying you to fail to represent your constituents is charity.
So if you think that taxes should only be a standard ten percent then we could reduce your salary to $17,400.
Oh and Bachmann - What about that 250k in Federal Farm subsidies that you got between 1996 and 2005. Talk about receiving Government aid. Where's the getting back to freedom there?
The highest rates of foreclosure in Minnesota are in your district but you continue to vote against providing these hard working people any relief. What a sham that you continue to draw charity for saying you represent these folks.
I think we need to get back to freedom alright and that's freedom from Michele Bachmann as a member of Congress. We've got to quit the infighting here and realize that the enemies are folks like Bachmann who use their position to spread what they consider the gospel.
I shouldn't have to remind anyone about Tarryl Clark running against Bachmann this fall. Great candidate. Let's continue to support her because it's worth whatever it takes to get rid of Bachmann.
We have Tarryl on our Progressive Electorate/Daily Kos page and every bit helps. Just a $30 contribution will help her continue to get ads up on Bachmann's crazy BP comments.
Michele Bachmann - Don't make it a hard habit to quit her.
