I followed all of the rules. I qualify for benefits. I received a notice that I qualified for an extension. California has suddenly thrown me off the rolls and isn't explaining anything. Suddenly I do not have the rent money.
Someone please tell me where to get help. I am not located in California. I worked in California so that's where my unemployment compensation comes from. I received the first six months, then the first extension of six months. I wrote to EDD and asked about my extension eligibility. They wrote back that I was eligible for an extension. According to my understanding of the rules I am eligible. I started receiving checks. I suddenly received US mail, with no explanation, that I may be eligible to start a new claim. They did not explain why. Then they only sent me half of my unemployment check and now I don;t have the rent money due tomorrow.
I don't know what to do or who, to talk to in that huge bureaucracy. They have just suddenly cut me off with no explanation when I am legally qualified.
I have called the auditor who originally audited my application and paperwork and I left her long messages.
Please tell me where to get help so that I am not evicted.
How can I deal with this massive bureaucracy that sends out letters with only two sentences and doesn't explain anything.
