Here's the story...

Palestinian liaison official Raed Fattouh says Israel has lifted the ban on soda, juice, jam, spices, shaving cream, chips, cookies and sweets. He said Wednesday some products have already entered Gaza.

Upon reading this story my initial reaction was, "I'm glad that at least some good has come from this tragedy."
But then I kept reading...
Israeli officials, speaking on condition of anonymity pending a formal announcement, say the move is meant to defuse pressure for an international investigation of the raid.
Say what?
Does Israel really believe that an international investigation can be avoided just because they are allowing a few treats to enter Gaza? That's a really, really bad deal. That's like a restaurant offering extra napkins at no extra charge with the purchase of two entrees. That's like getting free shoelaces with every purchase of shoes.
Never mind the fact that Israel shouldn't be banning these items to begin with. After all, their reasoning for banning these things has been to limit the access Palestinians have to supplies that could be used to produce terrorist weaponry. How the hell is a cookie a weapon? What do they think Palestinians are going to do with sugary treats? Throw them at Israeli diabetics?
Give me a break. I hope the international community laughs at Israel for thinking that soda and cookies can help them get away with murder. Is there no end to Israel's self-delusion? How stupid do they really think we are?
Thanks for reading.
