Things to mull over:
- He openly scorns international law (see story).
- He openly scorns the notion that his behavior should at least appear to be fair, decent, and rational, instead being content if it shows unassailable American power.
- He muses about the joys of dictatorship in public
- He behaves as if his primary obligation is to powerful interests in america and abroad that can help him, rather than to the American people. Granted, this could have been said of a number of past Presidents, but Bush seems to care little about hiding it - witness his avoidance of Dover AFB, for instance.
I think that in all of these ways Bush is acting uncannily like Kaiser Wilhelm II did, both to his people and toward the international community....... despite the fact that Wilhelm WAS an Emperor, and Bush is not.
So is Bush our Kaiser Bill; born to be King of Prussia, but stuck with leading the United States of America?
