I expect censorship from right wingers who do not allow freedom of speech or expression when it goes against their beliefs, but I do not expect censorship from so-called liberals/progressives.
I understand the corporate mainstream media has a strong bias in favor of Israel and serves as a propaganda tool of the Israeli lobby. When Israel recently attacked a humanitarian ship in international waters and, in the process, murdered an American citizen with 4 gun shots to the head at close range, the American media ignored the story. And this was just what they've always done...
Even cable networks like MSNBC invited Israeli Govt officials to come on and spin their propaganda while never inviting anyone to represent the aid workers who were attacked.
It is a sad situation that in America today it is politically incorrect ( even among progressives) to express anti-zionist opinions. One is apparently allowed to speak about Israel only if one speaks in obsequious and unquestioning support of Zionism.
So I was quite disappointed when I posted a comment condemning Israel for their ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and expressing my opinion that Israel is not a legitimate state nor a democracy, only to have it deleted/censored less than five minutes later.
I included a YouTube video on the subject which was 9 minutes long but the post was deleted in less than 5 minutes. Obviously the person deleting the post did not bother to watch the video.
This was a knee-jerk reaction to censor me for speaking out against Israel.
This seems like the tactics one expects from Fox News, Redsate, or the other anti-democratic right wing forums.
Is it Dailykos policy to censor anti-Zionist opinions?
