These are some of my favorite photos that I shot during Netroots Nation at the crazy Rio Hotel. I will post a second diary with more tomorrow as I have too many to put in one diary!
Of course you must also check out the amazing photo diaries from our very own Navajo and also check out the official photographer's site: Mona Brooks who works very hard with her team to shoot this event every year! I can't wait to see her stuff from this year!
Wednesday night was the Cheers and Jeers dinner, here is Navajo with 'Bill' photographing the dancers who popped up on tables across the casino every half hour or so....
Thursday night was Karaoke night at McFadden's (oh, it is actually Pablo McFadden's!) and Dante started off the fun:
CT's performance was unique....
Many joined in to sing the Battle Hymn of the Republic! (Interesting tidbit on this song: It was sung at the funerals of British statesman Winston Churchill, American senator Robert Kennedy, and American presidents Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon!)
More from Karaoke night, sponsored by SEIU. It was crowded but fun!
A great job singing Michael Jackson by Arjun Jaikumar (aka brownsox)
More pics of the conference. This was my third Netroots Nation and I will definitely be in Minneapolis next year. Hope to see many of you there!
Clammyc, The awful truth and Bruinkid:
I wonder if being interviewed by Fox News is as irritating as I would assume, I did not have time to stick around to listen to the questions....
One cool thing about Netroots Nation is getting the chance to meet some of our favorite politicians.
Speaker Pelosi did her best to encourage us to keep the pressure on. Not a problem for those of us on this blog...but will you get your more apathetic friends to call their reps on important issues? I pledge to bug all my Democratic friends to call and write and call and write and....
I seem to be having problems posting more pics from Flickr, I think I need to step up and upgrade to the Pro account.
More tomorrow, one way or another....including the Saturday night DailyKos party!
Remember to call your members in Congress and let them know what you expect of them.
I plan to call Boxer and Feinstein today to let them know I want them to get rid of the filibuster rule, and promise to do all I can to assure we never end up on the other end of the majority if they do!
What will you do today to help keep Democratic control of Congress, and get them to do a better job with the majority?
