A few months ago it was said the Republican Party had been crushed by Democratic victories in the last national elections. Times have changed. The Republicans are no longer relevant as a political party.
A cautious observer wrote -
Why don't we wait until after the 2010 midterms and let's see how relevant they are? A year ago we had lots of diaries here on how the GOP was in a death spiral and a very cute dinosaur to highlight the fact that the GOP was on the way to becoming extinct. Haven't seen that cute dinosaur lately. If we don't recognize and battle the GOP in the 2010 cycle as a formidable adversary, we may lose control of Congress. Would that make them a relevant political force?
Google Sarah Palin and you find links that provide her coordinates in cyberspace. Google had a link for Ask.com with a snippet for her website. I went there to find her position on future political issues.
The First link at Ask.com was for a so-called Club for Growth having an invitation to join their membership:
" Send a strong message to Washington. Let them know you stand with thousands of other Americans who support tax relief, reduced government spending, and pro-growth policies to put our nation back on the right track."
Tax relief? The US Treasury is spending $1 million dollars a minute for the US to conduct 2 foreign wars. How is the Pentagon spending $1 million dollars per minute helping civilians and ordinary American citizens have a better the quality of life and living standard?, The "Club for Growth" is at the most both insincere and idiotic, and probably has only a few thousands of members that intend to mislead 100s of millions of Americans. How could this organization have anything to do with Sarah Palin and the Republican Party?
The next link was for the Tea Party ranting and misquoting Thomas Jefferson, but nothing specifically about Sarah Palin, either. The third link had a snippet heading for Sarah Palin website, but the link connected to a collection of Sarah Palin videos. There was a link to the Sarah Palin Network.
The first three links I found on Google had no substance. They were not about her at all. Then I Googled Sarah Palin Official Website and found a legitimate link to SarahPAC.

Let’s have a reality check here.
Map of Alaska
Vitus Bering, a Dane working for the Russians, and Alexei Chirikov discovered the Alaskan mainland and the Aleutian Islands in 1741. The tremendous land mass of Alaska—equal to one-fifth of the continental U.S.—was unexplored in 1867 when Secretary of State William Seward arranged for its purchase from the Russians for $7,200,000. The transfer of the territory took place on Oct. 18, 1867. Despite a price of about two cents an acre, the purchase was widely ridiculed as "Seward's Folly." The first official census (1880) reported a total of 33,426 Alaskans, all but 430 being of aboriginal stock. The Gold Rush of 1898 resulted in a mass influx of more than 30,000 people. Since then, Alaska has contributed billions of dollars' worth of products to the U.S. economy.
It received statehood in 1959. Who are the "real" Alaskans??
Sarah Palin was raised in Alaska, and born in Idaho in 1964. These facts put Alaska in the rare position of a joining the Union at the end of Eisenhower’s administration. Imagine the political organization and orientation of Alaska in its 50-year statehood. If you add the population of Alaska to the population of Columbus, Ohio the sum would equal the population of Philadelphia, PA. If you subtract the population of Alaska from Dallas, TX the difference would be equal to the population of Portland, OR. Remember it is 1/5 the area of the lower 48 states.
These calculations are important in understanding that Alaskans have not been involved with the major events that shaped the United States during the 20th century: WWI, Wall St. Bull Market, The Great Depression, and WWII. Alaska wasn’t even a state. It was a territory. Any political timeline beginning in 1959 in US would show a country dominated by the Republican Party : Republican Presidents (Eisenhower, Nixon, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Reagan, Bush, Bush, and Bush), Democratic Presidents (Kennedy, Johnson, Carter, Clinton, Clinton, and Obama).
That many Alaskans and other Americans still support Republican ideas and agendas instead of the Democrats demonstrates appalling system failures of the press, media, education systems, independent, public and private since JFK to inform and educate the public.
Is there more evidence that the enormous chunks of the population have been deceived and misled for decades? It is time for Democrats to clear the air and show leadership again.
When Alaska's Governor, Palin rejected the findings of a bipartisan legislative probe which found she violated ethics rules. This was an impartial Democratic process.
The GOP pulled its support for biofuels. -
Talk Radio is where the action is.
Is Rush Limbaugh the head of the Republican Party? That would be more ridiculous than Sara Palin heading the GOP.
Mainstream mass communications are providing life-support to a Republican Party that has been in intensive care since John McCain picked Sarah Palin to be his running mate. Sarah Palin has huge political support, but since she resigned as Alaska’s governor after only two years in office, how better prepared will she be to take the helm at the White House in 2012?. Obviously her handlers have a script already prepared for her or someone else to learn and an agenda concocted by a fringe neo-something think tank is what Republicans are going to sell to Americans.
