Why are conservatives so fascinated with the F*ck the Tea Party merchandise?
For most of us, the F*ck The Tea Party movement is a minor sideshow - if we've heard of it at all. A few people are selling mugs and t-shirts with slogans, and a few bloggers found them amusing.

For conservatives, of course, it looms much larger. As whiny as the girl above may sound, we certainly need to do better than tea-bagger jokes.
What will the legacy of the tea party be? On the one hand frantic complaints about the cost of government run health care, and little smirks in the direction of Paul Ryan, who wants to drastically cut medicare. When anybody else talks about cutting medicare in a less drastic fashion, they scream about death panels and rationing.
Few today look back on the sixties with unconflicted approval. In twenty years, I think that will be the legacy of the Tea Party. A surprising number of the same baby boomers may be involved in both movements.
No modern industrial powerhouse has failed to support its auto industry - and some states give tax breaks to foreign auto companies. If they want to argue that we should be the first, they need to make a much better job of it.
