My son and I created it for the July 4, 2006 Boombox Parade in Willimantic, Connecticut. It became both a symbol and a distraction during the Democratic Primary between Ned Lamont and Joe Lieberman.
Since then it has been kept dry and covered on the loft of our barn, and is in good shape. Its armature is made of wood and the form is chicken wire, with skins are composed of newspaper and wallpaper paste. It remains painted as it was then. A ‘Petty Cash’ bag was constructed later, in the same manner. The deck is black and mounts atop the sides of a pickup truck bed. It has five or six signs, the original "Connecticut Bloggers" was painted over.
My family and I are exiting our home in September. If you’d like to own the Kiss Float, email me at writetodadnow@yahoo.com. The best adoption offer, assuming I receive any, will be determine on Friday, August 13. It must be picked up in central Connecticut by August 27. I will help you mount or load it.
Best,
dad
