Tomorrow's Restoring Honor 8/28 Rally, aka "I Have A Scheme" rally held by Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin, will have 2 of the St. Louis Cardinals in attendance: Albert Pujols (who I admire as a player... politics, not so much) and Teabagging manager Tony LaRussa. Making matters worse is that local Teabagger hero (to some) and a villain to most others Dana Loesch will be there for KFTK and for PJTV, and so will Randy Tobler and Jamie Allman.
Beck's rally serves one purpose = bastardizing the legacy of MLK and his ideas.
Media Matters: On the brink of Glenn Beck's salvation
3 hours and 28 minutes ago
There's only one person who might know what's going to happen on Saturday, August 28 in front of the Lincoln Memorial -- Glenn Beck -- and there's a good chance even he's not sure. Beck's "Restoring Honor" event has gone through so many different changes that it's impossible to nail down what will or won't be included. First it was an educational seminar, then it was a political rally, then it was a book release party, then it was a veterans benefit, then it was a civil rights rally, then it was a celebration of Martin Luther King, then it was a religious revival, then it was all of the above, none of the above, and some of the above all at once.
And the whole idea of "Restoring Honor" is making a lot of people very uncomfortable, even in some unlikely corners. Beck's Fox News colleague Greta Van Susteren thinks Beck is wrong to have the event at the Lincoln Memorial on the anniversary of King's speech, and Fox News insists that it has absolutely nothing to do with the rally and will only cover it as a "news event." Of course, Fox has also givenBeck a huge platform to promote the rally, but consistency was never its strong suit anyway. Even conservative activists are casting a leery eye on Beck's rally, suspecting that Beck's in it for himself and not the cause.
Glenn Beck's rally raises questions
Self-proclaimed civil rights leader Glenn Beck's history of racially charged rhetoric
August 26, 2010 8:40 am ET
Glenn Beck's attempts to "reclaim the civil rights movement" and "pick up Martin Luther King's dream" ring hollow when contrasted with the radio and TV host's long record of racially-charged, offensive rhetoric.

BUSTED! Fox News Posts Review Of Glenn Beck’s Rally Before It Happens
Fox News promos often tout the network as "The Most Powerful Name In News." Now that power extends into the supernatural as FoxNews.com is caught publishing a story reviewing Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally in Washington, DC, the day before it takes place. This demonstration of journalistic clairvoyance may just be a part of the "miraculous" occurrences that Beck promised would take place at tomorrow's historic event. However, despite the obvious scoop that Fox could claim with this pre-porting, the story was quickly removed from the site, but not before I captured this picture of the screen:

UPDATED: STL Card's Pujols & LaRussa at Glenn Beck 8/28 rally

First of all, I need to state that I am NOT a Cubs fan that hates on St. Louis. I'm not a White Sox fan either, though I have no problem rooting for both Chicago baseball teams (except when they play each other or my favorite team).
Chicago fans think Beck is divisive, Pujols sells out.
Adam Shriver's STL Activist Hub has this:
Is Tony La Russa Slightly Evil or Slightly Stupid?
The Daily Show had a hilarious segment (even by their standards) the other day asking if Fox News is Evil or Stupid?
Now comes word that Tony La Russa is introducing Pujols at Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally in Washington D.C. this weekend, headlined by Beck and Sarah Palin (and being reported on by Dana Loesch for Pajamas Media TV). La Russa absurdly says of the rally:
I don't know who's going to be there, who's going to accept it. But the gist of the day is not political. I think it's a really good concept, actually.
He also claimed that he would not have gone if it was political:
"I made it clear when we were approached: I said, 'If it's political, I wouldn't even approach Albert with it.' I don't want to be there if it's political," La Russa said.
No one in their right mind who has even the dimmest awareness of American politics could possible think that this rally, chalk full of right-wing speakers and held on the same date as Martin Luther King's "I have a dream speech" by a guy who said President Obama "hates White People" is not political. Which makes me wonder, WTF is going on with TLR? I mean, he's obviously not stupid, as he is widely regarded as a baseball genius. But could he be so completely unaware of current events and the nonstop litany of absurdities and offensive behavior from Beck that he honestly believes anyone would think that this is an apolitical event?
LaRussa and Pujols are both evil and/or stupid
Pujols, La Russa to Attend Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" Rally
By Chad Garrison, Fri., Aug. 27 2010 @ 10:06AM
I don't know who's going to be there, who's going to accept it. But the gist of the day is not political. I think it's a really good concept, actually. -- Tony La Russa to stltoday.com.
So, let's get this straight, TLR. You know next to nothing about conservative talk-show host Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally that you and Albert Pujols plan to attend tomorrow as representatives of the St. Louis Cardinals?
Actually, you're in good company.
Beck's website for the rally gives precious few details about the event expected to bring 20,000 people to the Lincoln Memorial on the anniversary of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech at the very same location.
This, however, we do know: Despite Beck's promises that "Restoring Honor" is non-political, the two main speakers are to be himself and Sarah Palin. Hmm.

The 8/28 "I Have A Scheme" Rally is non-political, my ass! It IS indeed one when the nutter Palin is speaking.

On Facebook, I heard someone (Kurt Watters) say that he is no longer a fan of Glenn Beck b/c he is "too soft on Blacks," "Rosa Parks was an NAACP plant," and other sickening KKK-like rants.
Islam supports the killing of infidels. Anyone who doesn't believe in the prophet Mohammed is an infidel. In fact almost all infidels are none muslims funny how that works. Also the only person I listen to in thaat group is Beck, an I've even cut down listening to Glenn because he is to soft on blacks. He considers MLK and Rosa Parks american heros I don't. MLK is a revolutionary man I'll give you that Rosa Parks was just a NAACP plant to cause the bus boycott. I planned to attend Glenn's rally, till I realized its going to be a pro african american speech, which I want no part of.
My rebuttal:
@Kurt: You are being a race-baiting teabagging nut to say such rubbish. There's a rubber room for you right next to Michelle Malkin, Bill Hennessy, Dana Loesch, and Sean Hannity

Now, Dana Loesch on The Dana Show is harping about the Restoring Honor rally. She is claming that the Democrats are being race-baiters as usual.

La Russa, Pujols will appear at Washington rally
• Cardinals first baseman and three-time NL Most Valuable Player Albert Pujols will be among several honorees at a highly publicized and potentially politically charged Saturday morning rally expected to draw more than 20,000 to The Mall.
Organized by Fox News talk show host Glenn Beck and featuring former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, the "Restoring Honor" rally is scheduled to take place at the base of the Lincoln Memorial on the 47th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech.
Beck, who met Pujols at Busch Stadium before a June appearance at Chaifetz Arena, is promoting the event as an apolitical celebration of the First Amendment and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Cardinals manager Tony La Russa, scheduled to introduce Pujols, insisted Thursday that he and Pujols are attending only after receiving assurances that the event is not a thinly disguised political rally.
Some liberal critics have portrayed the three-hour event as a platform for the conservative Tea Party movement.
"I made it clear when we were approached: I said, 'If it's political, I wouldn't even approach Albert with it.' I don't want to be there if it's political," La Russa said.
STLToday: Pujols and LaRussa attend the 8/28 Rally, Dana Loesch called them to it.
Pujols and La Russa to appear at Glenn Beck's 'not political' rally
With their slumping St. Louis Cardinals in Washington for the weekend, Tony La Russa and Albert Pujols(notes) plan to relax with a little sightseeing in our nation's capital on Saturday.
Yup, they're going to take a little trip to the National Mall, where they will climb the steps of the Lincoln Memorial with conservative radio host Glenn Beck, politician Sarah Palin and 20,000 of their closest Tea Partying supporters for Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally.
Look, I have no problems with ballplayers taking political stances, even if they're ones I don't agree with. I'm not going to suggest that La Russa start swinging his trusty fungo bat (especially since Beck has felt the need to capitalize his request that his followers "NOT BRING ANY SORT OF WEAPON, INCLUDING A POCKET KNIFE").
Pujols and LaRussa disgrace the Cards by going to the "I Have A Scheme" rally

I am an ardent Cardinals/Pujols fan through and through, but his recent activities have me worried sick.
