Last year Maggie had a tough foaling. Her baby was a red bag, so this year everyone was on alert. She had eyes on her all the time and she was boarded near the University vet clinic. Fortunately everything went well this year, and Maggie had an easy birth (easy for me to say) and a beautiful colt I call Nip, because whenever I'm around he tries to take a nip out of me. I got some photos of the birth and at a few months which I have included below.
Hello world, here I am, just seconds old
Brave new world
On unsteady legs
I know there's something back here I want, I'll find it
I found it
When I was younger, I had difficulty standing
You lookin' at us
We got this under control now
That's mom and me in the foreground, I'm catching some zzzzzzz
When it's nice out, I like to chill
She's eating for two now, so I keep a close watch
I never get a moment's peace
Ain't I good looking?
This is how I got my name
For those who are interested, here's my older sister, Legs, at one year old, she's a natural
