With about 16,000 ballots absentee ballots counted today, and another 6,000 or so outstanding, Sen. Lisa Murkowski determined that she could not overcome the edge Joe Miller has been able to maintain when votes from Southeast Alaska didn't give her the necessary boost.
She conceded tonight, "telling supporters late Tuesday that she did not see a path to victory in the vote count." So we've got classy Joe Miller to join Rand Paul, Sharron Angle, and Ken Buck in crazyville and a bitter rift among Republicans. James L has the blow by blow of the day's counting over at Swing State, and notes "Murkowski just walked off the podium without endorsing Joe Miller. Game on!"
Conversely, Alaska Dems, and particularly Sen. Mark Begich, are united behind Scott McAdams.
