What a week!
On Labor Day, the most devastating wildfire in Colorado history struck just outside the city limits. My family was lucky that, despite being instructed Thursday night to get our stuff together and point the car toward the street, we didn't get the order to evacuate. My mountain neighbors in Boulder County will be working for a long time to recover from the horror -- 169 homes just gone.
But we're pulling together, collecting donations for the people who lost a lot in the fire, and finding ways to thank the firefighters. I've got an idea for a surely indirect ( but meaningful) way for you to show Boulder some love -- while at the same time, help fuel the progressive movement AND get yourself some good stuff. It's a three-fer!
I'd decided a couple of weeks ago on the two items I would contribute to the Netroots Nation Auction. Today, I'm excited to tell you about these items and I think that, given the past week, you'll want to connect with them.
They're boxes of goodies from Boulder's Best Organics, a local business that collects Boulder's uniqueness and sends it to you in a box -- with a picture of the Flatirons, our picturesque mountain backdrop, right on it.
The first box, Choc-A-Lot!, is an assortment of organic chocolate products -- what's not to love? Bars from Chocolove, dark and milk chocolate cups from Seth Ellis Chocolatier, chocolate oat bars, chocolae mate tea, cocoa sweets. Really, that's a lot of fun in a box.
The second box, Blissful Body, is packed with body care products you want and need: herbal soap, thick lotion, silky shower gel, a soothing candle, and moisturizing lip balm. You know how good that's going to feel when it's delivered to YOU.
So think about it. Boulder could use your support, Netroots Nation could use your support -- and YOU could really use these comfort items. Please look for these items at the Netroots Nation auction and bid like crazy. Make headlines, even!
