Over the past 20 months, it has been my absolute privilege to serve the state of New York in the US Senate. In that time, I have traveled to all 62 counties in the state, I've listened to New Yorkers from Brooklyn to Buffalo and I've fought every day to make the lives of all New Yorkers better. It's about fairness, it's about equality and it's about opportunity and I pledge to continue to fight for these values every day as US Senator.
This year's election is going to be one of the toughest of our lifetime. The forces aligned against Democrats this year are well-funded and motivated to defeat the progressive movement like never before. We need to turn out today and we need to turn out in November and prove the pundits wrong. This is in our hands. We must make the case to our friends and family that this is not an election any of us can afford to sit out.
And I know you can do this. I remember last year, in my first diary here at DailyKos, when I asked you to support me in my fight to have the ballot I cast for Scott Murphy counted. The response was so supportive and so amazing. This time I'm the one on the ballot, and I'm asking for your help again.
If you're in New York, please go out and vote today. The polls are now open in much of the state (see poll hours here - pdf) and close at 9pm tonight. Please cast your vote for me in the Democratic primary for US Senate and tell your friends and family to support me as well. And you can let us know you're voting today by signing this pledge of support and joining my campaign. Also, please consider contributing what you can to my campaign.
If you're not in New York, please spread the word about my campaign to your New York family and friends. You can send them this diary, my Facebook page, my Twitter feed and of course my website, so they can get to know me and my campaign. Nothing is more impactful than a personal endorsement from you.
And you can send them this video we made, which I think perfectly sums up why I went into public service in the first place and why I'm confident that we can weather this storm and bring New York -- and all of America -- back.
This truly is all about who we fight for and I promise to fight every day for New York's middle class, for a new clean energy future and for healthcare and equality for all. I pledge that, as Senator, I will take a back seat to no one when it comes to fighting for the citizens of New York.
I humbly ask for your vote today and let's get Democrats out in force both today and on November 2nd.
Thanks so much for your support!

As a working mother, I understand the way working families, and working parents struggle every day. We are facing challenges like we have not seen in generations. Millions of workers have lost their jobs through absolutely no fault of their own. It's about fairness, it's about opportunity, and that is what I'm fighting for every single day. I want to see "Made in America" again. I believe that leadership is knowing when to take action. And we can do this, by rebuilding New York's economy. We can lead the way with high tech and biotech, renewable energy and green jobs. Through new infrastructure investments like high-speed rail and rural broadband and new health-care IT and a new electric grid. This is all about who we fight for, and I will take a back seat to no-one when it comes to fighting for New York.
