Well, another day, another case of sexual harassment by a Republican.
It appears that Calumet County District Attorney Kenneth Kratz was so enamored by the bruises on the face of a woman abuse victim that he just couldn't help himself.
Really, what would anybody do in such a situation: Send sexy text messages to the victim!
According to the AP story, Kratz wrote:
"Are you the kind of girl that likes secret contact with an older married elected DA ... the riskier the better?" Kratz, 50, wrote in a message to Stephanie Van Groll in October 2009. In another, he wrote: "I would not expect you to be the other woman. I would want you to be so hot and treat me so well that you'd be THE woman! R U that good?"
When called to answer for the alleged abuse, what did Kratz do? Was he apologetic? Was he contrite? Did he admit an extreme error of judgement?
Of course not.
He allegedly yelled at the reporters because of the damage this would cause him!
"This is a non-news story," Kratz shouted. But he added, "I'm worried about it because of my reputational interests. I'm worried about it because of my 25 years as a prosecutor."
Of course, he was just another guy who thinks his shit don't stink:
"I'm serious! I'm the atty. I have the $350,000 house. I have the 6-figure career. You may be the tall, young, hot nymph, but I am the prize!" he texted.
After Van Groll reported the text messages, Kratz did step away from the case against her alleged abuser.
Well, despite what he says, I think this is a news story. Somehow, I think this guy's $100,000+ job is now on the line. Thanks to AP for helping shine the light on this situation.
