Edward Hicks, a painter who flourished in the first half of the 19th century is almost only known for his painting "Peaceable King." A beautiful painting, it expresses the ideal of all animals and all humanity to live in harmony with one another.
Hicks painted 61 versions of this work. Today, most people recognize this painting and understand what it means.
Here in the Pootie diaries we (mostly) live in harmony with our pet companions. Follow me below the fold for pics of our furry (and otherwise) friends living side by side in somewhat harmony.
Sometimes they fight like cats and dogs, but many times woozles & pooties enjoy the pleasure of cross-species friendship:
Pooties aren't the only species woozles like to hang with!
In fact, Woozles are very open to making friends of any kind:
Sometimes the Peaceable Kingdom isn't as peaceful as it could be...
This woozle learned the hard way that he can't always trust what a pootie tells him.
*Pooties Rule! But at times they can make peace with the 'lesser' creatures of the universe.*
Some Pootie interest seems to be more "piece" than "peace" in the kingdom!
And some creatures take the idea of love for their fellow species a little TOO literally!
Woozles and Pooties are not alone in trying to bridge the gap divides one species from another.
But, sometimes old habits of intolerance persist.
But whatever species one belongs to, remember the words of the wise old philosophers [The Beatles] "All you need is love." And plenty of naps - because when it comes to napping, nothing beats a comfy chair, and friends to fill up every inch of it.
