Michele Bachmann is up on the air with yet another attack ad this week, and for the second week in a row, “Fake Jim” the Election Guy is nowhere to be seen.
It seems to be official: Bachmann’s Fake Jim is off the air. The people of Minnesota’s 6th District weren’t buying what he was selling, and no longer will he mislead Minnesotans, or attack Tarryl for supporting policies that Bachmann also supported. Despite his challenges with the truth, we’ll all miss Fake Jim.
In fact, the Real Jims were so broken up about Fake Jim’s demise that they wanted to pass along this memorial video to all of you.
We’re not sure whether Fake Jim was pulled off the air because the ads violated laws… or if it’s because they were deemed “false,” “misleading,” and “wrong” by three separate independent fact-checking organizations … or if Bachmann’s team panicked after new polling data showed that despite spending $1 million attacking Tarryl, Bachmann gained literally no ground in the race.
Let me say that again because it’s important – after $1 million spent on attack ads, Michele Bachmann has gained no ground in the polls and is still below 50% support, making her an extremely vulnerable incumbent.
We know, of course, that Michele Bachmann’s lies won’t stop, even if Fake Jim is off the air. With no record of positive accomplishment to run on, it’s clear that her attack ads won’t either.
That’s why we rely on all of you to spread the word about Bachmann’s lies and to ensure that no matter how Bachmann attacks, Tarryl can respond. You put our Real Jims online and spurred people to contribute to putting them on the air, and your ongoing vigilance and attention to this race will keep us strong both on the ground and over the airwaves through Election Day.
Thanks for being a part of this important campaign. And R.I.P. Fake Jim!
Carrie Lucking, Communications Director, Tarryl Clark for Congress.
