For all the talk about the Big Tent GOP that was claimed over the decades, it's all over.
The new Republican promise is merely meant to be embraced by a lily white America.
The GOP's A Pledge to America is whiter than a White's Only High School Yearbook from 1955 - at least those would put a photo of the black janitor staff in the back pages.
Between the words are a bunch of snapshots which hold the strange honor of completely avoiding a recognizable shot of black, asian or anyone that could be mistaken for Muslim.
Download the Pledge and let's play "Spot the Non-White" - remember they must be in focus.
Page 1 is the Statue of Liberty - she's white.
Page 10 is Mt. Rushmore - those are white guys
Page 11 are three white people behind a meat counter
Page 12 is a huge crowd shot in lecture room. I can only see white people visible in the shot
page 14 has a white guy talking to people at tables. Now there is someone in a red outfit at the back of the photo that could be black or just really tan. They're so out of focus it's impossible to determine gender. But there are a lot of white people in focus.
Page 19 is a white guy on a horse. The
Page 20 has a lot of white men talking to white people. One white guy is talking to two members of the military. Hard to tell if they're Hispanic or merely tan after a tour of duty in Iraq or Afghanistan. they're really small when compared to the above picture of a quaint suburban street. There's also a white guy talking to a woman in a red dress in front of a band. She's so out of focus.
Page 26 is more white guys with microphones talking to white people. The crowd shot at a meeting is only the back of white people heads.
Page 32 is five white guys in suits. One of them does have his tan glowing
page 37 is five white guys in ties talking to white people.
Page 38 is expensive condos
page 42 is more white guys (along with a white woman) talking to white people
page 44 is white buildings
Page 46 is a bunch of white people. In a middle photo is white woman talking to people at a long table. There just might be a black woman seated behind the table, but she's so tiny and out of focus....It could be just a tan.
If this is really a pledge to Americans; why aren't we seeing Americans instead of a selected vision of their version of America? Even Sarah Palin's Mama Grizzly Tea Party ad had the single black guy standing in the crowd shot.
Did not a single white GOP Congressman stand close enough to an American that didn't reflect their skin color to get a candid snap shot? Where are all those black friends that the GOP leaders swear they have when defending their racial policies?
It's like playing Where's Waldo on this alleged prayer?
