I happened to be watching the Rick Sancho show today on CNN and heard about the college student that committed suicide by jumping off the GW bridge between New York and New Jersey (mentioned in the rec list). He had a gay sex encounter streamed out live into a video chat zone by two other students without his knowledge. That’s a tragedy in itself for all of those involved. Sancho and the CNN broadcast was sanctimonious about "the invasion of privacy" as you might expect.
However, only two nights before I was watching AC Cooper’s 360 program. He showed a background image from a newscast. A woman in the newsroom was apparently caught eating a booger. AC and his sidekick laughed it up. Was this an "invasion of privacy" even though the woman was in the background and apparently not aware that her actions would be shown? Some would say that she exposed herself. Others would say AC Cooper and CNN made a low-class decision in showing it. Hopefully the woman won’t kill herself out of a depression born of such public humiliation.
I think Rick Sancho and CNN and AC Cooper all need counseling. They pass their "boogers" out to a mass audience every day and no doubt laugh about it all the way home. If you can’t see the connection between all of this low quality feed delivered by "bumpkin media" to the nation and world, you likely need to look closer at what they’re doing. The thought that these people play such a role in the formation and maintenance of our government never fails to creeps me out.
