Good afternoon and Welcome to the New York State Group at DailyKos.
We're just getting organized and rolling in some used furniture. We've got electricity and internet access set up in the office. There's a coffee pot over on that crate over there but you gotta bring your own mug. We could use some paper clips and post it notes so if you've got some to spare please bring them in to HQ.
We've got to get this thing organized quickly as it appears we'll be having a special election in NY-26 shirtlessly... er... I mean... shortlessly... eh... that is to say... shortly.
The last 2 congressional special elections in New York were for NY-23 and NY-20 both of which are more Republican-friendly by the numbers and both of which Democrats won.
Chris Bowers gives a little bit of a preliminary run-down on the district here.
There will always be more coverage at The Albany Project and various other fine local New York blogs but I just noticed there is an RSS Feed for our new group blog here too so add it to your feeders readers!
Excuse me... I've got to whip my shirt off and go move some furniture. We've got a special delivery from craigslist!
Group Usage Footnote:
One does not need to "join" a group and become a "member" in order to read the blog entries and join in the discussion by commenting on them. This works just as it always has. Anyone can read. Anyone with an ID can comment. "Joining" a group and becoming a "member" implies that you are going to be one of the writers or admins of that particular group. It seems natural to want to "join" a group we are interested in but that is not necessary unless we want to write for the group.
The easiest way to keep up with a group is to "follow" the group. Click the little "heart" next to the word "follow" under the group name. This adds the group to your list of groups and individual users that you "follow." You will then see the groups diaries listed on your "MyStream" page which hangs off of your "MyPage."
