Aloha,
As you may have heard, Rep. Mazie Keiko Hirono of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, is running for Hawai`i's open U.S. Senate seat.
She's off to a solid start, both in polling and fundraising.
But Senate races are expensive, even in a relatively small state like Hawai`i. And progressive women always face special challenges in important races (particularly from the media). So, to raise money for this tough campaign, Mazie is heading to San Francisco next month for a "Hawaiian reception" in her honor at Roy's restaurant. Candidly, it's not an event for everybody; tickets start at $100. But I thought I'd mention it here to help get the word out. Please help by telling anyone who might be interested.
With early fundraising so important in big races, we may look back on this event a year from now and say that the support of generous Bay Area progressives made a significant difference in the race.
