I love cats. Everyone who knows me knows that I love cats. I'll never be a "crazy cat lady", though, since more than two or three cats in the house is too much. My cats all have demanded a certain amount of mommy-kitty time, and I just couldn't do them all justice if I had more than a few. So I allow myself to virtually slobber all over adorable cats on the web.
My latest love is Maru, the famous box-loving cat. Of course, there are few cats who don't love boxes. Maru has made his love of boxes an art form.
If you have somehow missed Maru on the Fresh Step kitty litter commercials, witness.
But first, a word from our sponsor.
Every night, we who post Top Comments open the Gmail inbox at TopComments AT gmail DOT com to see our "gifts" - comments of the day as chosen by you. Some days are diamonds, and we get lots of comments. The best of days, our submitters also get their comments in by the deadline of 9:30 Eastern time, tell us who they are, and tell us why they liked the comment they are submitting. We really like that.
Like I always say, we could not do Top Comments without you.
tl:dr - Comments to TopComments AT gmail DOT com by 9:30 PM Eastern with your DKos username and a good link. Commentary optional, but preferred.
Which box will Maru choose?
Many people like the Super Cat Slide ...
And now that I'm finished fawning over Maru, my beloved Pumpkin has turned his back to me. Now I'll have to go kiss up to him.
The comments!
From bronte17:
jct asks a good what-if Take Action question... imagine if the news reported demonstrations against mortgage companies and banks ripping off the government... like they reported the teabaggers in This is What it Looks Like When We Fight Back by PaulVA. $900 Million in taxpayer bailout money for this horrid labor-abusive consumer-abusive homebuilder, PUlte, who is using taxpayer bailout money to buy land and not for jobs.
And that diary flows smooth as silk into this diary:
laborish says bring the voices of the people who do the work directly into the debate from an AFL-CIO diary that refutes the lie that we cannot afford to be the country we want to be... in Trumka: Nation's Future Begins and Ends with Jobs by Mike Hall.
ranger995 comments on the military pushing out all of its competent people in Reflections on the Army, Torture and General Sanchez by Amnesty International USA. This diary had some points I didn't agree with, but it looks at the article in The Atlantic concerning the current military command structure that rewards conformism and ignores merit... as our best and brightest officers continue to leave the Army. It doesn't bode well for our future.
Finally, Vita Brevis answers Rand Paul-ers who argue for the right of individual conscience (or lack thereof) by pharmacists to refuse to fill prescriptions in What Pharmacy Denials in Missouri Would Mean for Me by RH Reality Check.
From Angie in WA State:

Because life lessons learned by someone else are always sweeter.
My picks:
Read this thread started by lakehillsliberal in buddabelly's Gabby stands up and is heading to Rehab soon. Oh, hell. Just read the whole thing, diary and comments. We're so proud of Gabby!
independantman makes an important point. Perhaps not the first time anyone has said this, but it's still worth noting.
