Ahh, birtherism. I thought that the right had moved on. I was wrong.
During the election cycle it seemed like the Republicans had finally shut up their more overtly racist wing about Obama being from Indonesia , some country where black/brown people live, Kenya, ect.... They figured out that lying about the economy, healthcare, and the deficit proved to be more politically advantageous. And hey, give them credit, it worked.... for awhile.
But as poll after poll finds Obama's numbers creeping up spiking, they must have lost message control.
This mornings Fox Nation cut and pasted an blip from the dailymail which read:
Pressure was mounting on Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie today amid increasing confusion over whether President Obama was born there.
Abercrombie said on Tuesday that an investigation had unearthed papers proving Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961.
He told Honolulu's Star-Advertiser: 'It actually exists in the archives, written down,' he said.
But it became apparent that what had been discovered was an unspecified listing or notation of Obama's birth that someone had made in the state archives and not a birth certificate.
Of course under this damning headline:
Hawaii Governor Claims Record of Obama's Birth 'Exists in Archives' But Can't Produce the Vital Document
Now if you were to actually read the story they cut and pasted from you would have found things said like,
"Most theories have been dismissed by many in public office and the media, and have been found to be misleading or generally untrue."
Or
"However, the conspiracy theories still thrive, and according to Abercrombie, are likely to continue despite whatever evidence that shows him to be a proper U.S. citizen"
Governor Abercrombie:
'It's a matter of principle with me'
'I knew his mum and dad. I was here when he was born. Anybody who wants to ask a question honestly could have had their answer already.'
But no birther story is complete without glaring racism. Luckily we are dealing with Fox Nation commenters.

Yes, it has. You just don't believe its real."
I don't believe one way or the other. I don't know. And just read the ABC article, a copy of the long form original has not been released. They haven't found it. I'm not a birther, up until recently I was an independent who started out as a democrat. You react like a liberal.
The famous, I used to be a Democrat line. No you weren't. We know that you have never been a Democrat. It doesn't give you any ced. Just stop.

It's simple -- there ain't one - obama is an ilegal prez and should be tryed as a spy and sentenced according to the letter of the law
A courageous soul named Shelby decided to step in:

The birth certificate has been shown, many, many times. Its online, and not just government websites. Amy Holmes, a conservative who worked for the McCain campaign, said she went to Hawaii during the campaign, saw the original certificate, and says that this is an non issue, that he was born in Hawaii. I've asked this before, and of course, gotten no answer, but I'll try again.
You must all know that Hillery wanted to be President, and the "Clinton Machine" would have used anything and everything to win. Don't you think that they would have known Obama wasn't born here? Wouldn't they have used that info in a heartbeat to win that incredibly long primary? You don't think Sarah Palin would have used that info? Get real!
And was met with all the sharp minded thinking the right can muster:

shelby73, you are completely wrong.
But in the end it didn't matter, because facts don't matter to Neanderthals.
aghast_n_fl Just now in reply to shelby73
The certificate does not meet journalistic standards... read politifact on it, it does not carry necessary legal information, as even Chris Matthews accepted.
The newspaper announcements could have been called in by the grandparents, as further evidenced by the new revelation that whatever record the state has was written into the records ...not exactly a science now is it?
There are multiple problems with BO and his birth records....as this article and the Governor of HI have attested.
Using Politifact, Chris Matthews, and the birth records showing Obama was born in Hawaii, to say that he wasn't born in Hawaii. Welcome to right-wing America.
