It ain't easy Being Green. Just ask Kermit!
This is an open thread. Come join me!
I have always loved Kermit the Frog. Sesame Street came along when I was around 6 or 7 years old. I thought I was way too old and sophisticated to like Sesame Street--after all, Mr. Rogers was the one who actually talked to me like I had a brain and feelings; but then I saw Kermit.
He was thoughtful. He was kind. 1/3 kid, 1/3 child, 1/3 frog :-)
Kermit talked with me in the same way Fred Rogers did. He listened the same way Mr. Rogers did, as well. These are the things I think are missing so often in children's programming--talking with children and listening. Kermit could get rowdy, but he was usually a quieter presence on the Street that cared about all his friends. He showed a generation of children how to be a good friend.
And, as the video indicates, he showed us that it isn't easy to be different; but it is who we are and we will still do well.
I have found gluten to be disagreeing with me recently, so I am trying a gluten-free beer tonight: Bard's Beer. Not the best beer in the world, but it is better than none at all--and that is what it seems to be coming to!
How about all of you? How was your day? Mine was caught up in training, so I am glad to be home and to be getting ready for the World Series! Welcome!
