It was such a pleasure to see and hear Michael Moore today.
He nailed it.
I made it a point to talk to lots of people and the mood was so effing high. I talked to homeless, young, old, white, black, and so much in between and everyone said, "We are here to stay".
I met a financial planner, a trust fund baby, a stay at home mom, a teacher, a nurse, an IT tech who has been homeless for months, more and more homeless, and so many other people of all walks of life and backgrounds. We talked about so many issues, but we all agreed that we are being fucked by the 1% (to be blunt). Honestly, I have never met a more diverse group all agreeing about one thing before. This is just insane. I was hanging with skater punks and old ladies and construction workers and office inhabitants. This movement has crossed all the lines and resonates with everyone.
This is what I saw when I went to see Michael Moore at Occupy Oakland. We are learning that we have far more in common than not. We are learning that we can and will work together. We are learning that when we come together we have a voice if we all speak as one.
I think this change is going to take some time. I believe we must be in this for the long haul. But, I think we will prevail in the end. Hang in there. Everyone one of us. Hang in there. We are changing the world.
