I wrote about Compass Bible Church and their horrifying video entitled, Sins of the Father, Homosexuality in High School. It pretty much implied that since homosexuality is more accepted among younger generations it is just the cool thing to be. There is a pressure to be gay and that you must resist it. And you can, with the help of your Church and enough prayer.
It can even help those kids who have an inclination towards Broadway musicals and singing. They can help anyone.
Needless to say, it's appalling on so many levels and exploitive of these two young men who appear in the Church's video. It was taken down pretty quickly and others have uploaded it so people can continue to see what this Church is preaching. And it's at a time when people are seeing a huge push back against the GLBT community as they gain more rights and acceptance and are being exposed to more violence and discrimination. It's not a coincidence.
There has been a positive outcome in a way. A son of a wonderful women I know who works in my school district made this video. He offers hope, words of wisdom and a positive message. He turns this negativity into something good.
Thank you Jeff. Please watch it. Share it. Thank Jeff.
To the two kids that were in that video, I am always here for you if you need to talk.
He is right and he is brave for speaking out and for describing what it is like to be in these young men's shoes. And we need more brave voices like Jeff's. And he's not just speaking out to them he's making himself available to them if they need someone to talk to.
And on another note, Orange County's HIgh School for the Arts celebrated everyone by having a party.
"OCHSA is BORN THIS WAY"
This event took place at the Orange County High School of the Arts, where everyone is accepted for who they are. After a negative video on homosexuality, (Seen here http://www.youtube.com/...) our school responded with a "Gay Pride Day" where everyone wore rainbow attire and danced to Born This Way by Lady Gaga on our campus. We believe in acceptance. We believe in love.

We believe in acceptance. We believe in love.
This is our future generation. We are going to see change and we should also focus on the positive when things like this happen.
Thank you Jeff and thank you OCSHA for reminding us that we do believe in acceptance and love and that things are going to get better!
