I have been working with fiber, mostly wool for years, weaving, crochet, spinning, sewing and more. I learned to sew when I was in junior high and weaving when I was in Florida from a great teacher. Crochet came from my ex-husband's great aunt and it became something I could add to the wall hangings.
I love the off loom sculptural ideas that come to me with weaving. Almost everything I have done is free form.

I will be adding more pieces so please bookmark my shop.
This piece came to me as an extension of the base. I had an armature formed by a welder and then wove the piece directly on the shape using yarns that I had spun myself.
This is a large wallhanging with wrapped rope as the frame. I wrapped the rope then tacked it onto a large board and used it to create the shape for the weaving inside.
Along the way I started thinking about using wire with fiber techniques. Eventually I started crocheting with wire and have been working with wire to create new pieces. I haven't done any big pieces like the wallhangings - yet.
These include both crochet and wrapping.
Crocheted pieces made with permanently colored silver plated wire.
