Welcome to tonite's GW Block Party---a time when we generally let loose with some good music and fun humor. However, tonite I wish to be a little more serious......
As we go our way through our years; we often come along many different challenges in the road---and some are often more difficult than others. How we deal with those trying times, defines who we are; and how resourceful we can be to deal with the harsh realities of life. Sometimes it is not just us personally, but it often involves someone very close to us....
Also often defines who our true friends really are....
Let us ponder the reactions one might have in dealing with such "crises"...
As one comes upon a crisis; anger sometimes comes about; or perhaps, denial that it is real....
Some wish to deal with it in their own way--without any support from anyone...
Sometimes one will just pretend it isn't even "there"....and go about their way.
In the end, however, they must face up to the facts, as they are ----and deal with them. Hopefully, though, they also recognize things sometimes are not always as dire as originally posed.
This takes special courage; and a willingness to be open and honest----and yet giving; as many times it is not about themselves, but someone close.
I'm posting the video of Ted Kennedy, Jr's eulogy to his father----please take several moments and watch it---you can go to the 3:45 mark to start....
His words; and those of his father---speaks to all of us....
This is the time that brings out the best in all of us----rising to the occasion.... Reflecting on those words of the late Ted Kennedy, who said: "I know you'll do it, there is nothing you can't do. We're going to climb that hill together, even if it takes us all day."
Ted Jr. said: He taught me that nothing is impossible.
It is in these times that some of us, often reach down, and find little ways to offer support to those near us; someone who may need a little "boost" in their spirit....
I go back once again to words from Teddy:
For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die.
Done in the true spirit of:
With that----the floor is yours........
