I finally get to use my favorite joke of all time, only this time it ain't a joke. I will walk into Chase bank and announce calmly but imperiously that I shall be taking my overdrafts elsewhere. I will then turn on my heel, fling my scarf over my shoulder, and bid them a good day, leaving, never to darken their doorstep again.
To aid the process of transferring everything over, my credit union representative said if you have automatic payments and deductions (student loans, mortgage, child support, etc) to transfer, open the new account and keep the old account open for a month or two, and tomorrow or next week begin the process of moving all your business over without the stress of having to figure it all out immediately. It's not quite as dramatic and my scenario, but it's efficient and just as good and just as loud.
And then say "Good day, sir" to the bank manager, or "madame," whatever the case may be. And enjoy being a part of "Move Your Money" Day :D I will.
