The event comes in response to a decision by Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted that county boards of election must stop early in-person voting by 6 p.m. Friday, a move that caused outcries by Democrats.
This is from the Toledo Blade...
Pastors, union members, and student groups plan to rally Saturday outside the Lucas County Board of Elections voting center in opposition to the end of early voting.
Protesters are to meet at 8 a.m. outside the voting center at 13th and Washington streets, said organizer the Rev. Cedric Brock, pastor of Mount Nebo Church on North Detroit Avenue and president of the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance. The rally will be from 9 until 11 a.m.
The event comes in response to a decision by Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted that county boards of election must stop early in-person voting by 6 p.m. Friday, a move that caused outcries by Democrats. The Reverend Brock called the decision an attempt to suppress votes after high turnouts in 2008.
Apparently, the Rev. Jesse Jackson will also attend.
Sorry for the short piece, but I just wanted to get this out to any KOS-Ohio members. I will be there and hope to see you, too.
