A website named hermancainpac.com, registered to a third party, did so.
There is no Herman Cain PAC.
The site is a fake, and its owner's motives are unclear.

Update: Obviously, it didn't.
In my previous diary, I point out the evidence that strongly indicates that there is no relationship between hermancainpac.com (aka 'Herman Cain PAC') and the campaign.
The biggest evidence is that their 'Donate' button does not work. It points to a non-existent website 'hermancanpac.com' (note the missing 'i').
The site is a fraud and there is no such thing as the Herman Cain PAC.
Some of us have been duped, and the internet has run with it.
I hope this helps set the record straight.

Tips to users who debunked the story early:
The 'Donate' link is a dead link, (3+ / 0-)
which indicates that the whole site is phony. Even the crummiest PACs accept donations and have a working 'Donate' function.
When you click 'Donate' it attempts to go to a site called Hermancanpac.com, which takes the 'I' out of 'CAIN'. There is no 'I' in 'Team', but there is of course an 'I' in 'Cain'.

and the others, it was a great collective effort and we really gleaned an amazing amount of information, basically debunking the story by 10:00AM PDT. Obviously, I couldn't let it go.
