Looks like a former linchpin of the raiding team, Santiaga, is making a run for ME State Senate. I'll let Dkosmama share the details:
One of our original founding members, Colleen Lachowicz, better known in the guild as Santiaga or Ralista, is running for the Maine State Senate. Colleen is a long time political activist and advocate for kids and health care. Also her DPS is amazing. Mainers will be fortunate indeed if she wins to have her in there fighting for education, kids, health care, jobs and the 99% against the one of the absolute worst of the Tea Party Wing Nut Governors which were inflicted upon us all in the 2010 election patch. (I hate that patch.) Gov. Paul LePage is the one whose first move was to remove the historic mural celebrating Labor in Maine. And most recently he declared of efforts to meet with his to discuss unemployment: “It’s all a big play and I think it’s bullshit,” the governor said, pausing for a minute then adding slowly, “Bull …. shit.”
So let's all pitch in a few bucks to help Colleen get elected so she can unleash some serious DPS on LePage.
From her to me on the details:
I do have to do a primary fight now. So I'm asking if you could put
the word out to the Wreck List that I need campaign donations. I am running as a
clean election candidate. That means I can only raise $1500 in seed money. Right
now I have about $600 raised. Individuals can contribute a maximum of $100. The
name of the contributer has to be on the check. If a couple has a joint account,
both names on the check, they can contribute a max of $200 as long as they both sign
the check. It has to be checks. I can't do an Act Blue account. The check has to
be made out to: Colleen Lachowicz for Senate. They can send the checks to {Moody: the address is on the forums or ping Dkosmama or myself for it - until I make sure that it's OK to post that address.]
I'm not very good at asking for money. But I want to take my advocacy skills,
knowledge of health care and kick ass attitude to the State Senate.
As soon as I post this, I'm sending her a check. I know that for a lot of us, money is tight but if you can afford to send a few dollars (but not more than $100) her way, please do it now. Thanks Wreck List and all Kossacks.
Do we have raiding updates? why, yes we do!
raiding report:
The Tuesday night Looking for Raid guild run continues to be a fun time had by all. I’m not going to be able to lead it next week, but Elu has stepped in and said that he’s willing to be part of the steering committee. With the experience everyone has been developing and the enthusiastic help of knowledgeable guildies, I know it will continue to be a success. We flattened the first four bosses in record time this week, and we were going to queue for the second 4 bosses but people started drifting off to bed.
Team Kaels had a great first week in Dragon Soul, going 5/8 with a medium amount of effort. They made great strides in the Gunship Mark II battle while their lazy tank was off at a concert or something. Why do they even bother with her, I’ll never know. Anyhow.
Here's a report on Team Pamena/Rubidium
Raid Team 2 last Friday, with the help of Azucarino, Carune, and, for a boss or two, Kaels and Monomis, blitzed 6 of 7 in Firelands. This past Monday, though, we decided we were as sick of Firelands as it was of us, so we took a break from our quest to finally kill Ragnaros (don't get comfortable, Rags, we'll be back) and ventured into Dragon Soul. We successfully downed Morchok and the preceding trash, on our 3rd or 4th try, and what a contrast from, say Tier 11 when Group 2 spent 5 WEEKS trying to kill Magmaw, and Firelands, where it took a long time to get Shannox down. It really gave us a lift to know we can do at least one, and while we proved a little crunchy for the Pong Boss, I have no doubt we will be killing him soon. IF, and it's a big if, we can have at least 8 people coming to this raid each time, that is. We continue to be plagued with absenteeism and inconsistent attendance (and I am not including people like Elu and Elsas in that who have said upfront they can't do Fridays - we can work with rotating people in and out as long as we know ahead of time) but I am still hopeful that we will get a solid core of folks who can do both nights with us. We will go back and get Rags, but it is so nice to be out of the fiery pit for a while!
That's enough out of me. Let's hear from Mahuae about the State of the Guild Vault:
