Doesn't this Missouri Republican who wants Claire McCaskill's seat have something better to do than attack my city of Bridgeport, CT?
An attack ad by the campaign of Republican John Brunner, a candidate for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Democrat Claire McCaskill, focuses on an earmark that provided funds for Bridgeport’s Pleasure Beach.
The ad points out McCaskill voted for the earmark, which set aside $1.9 million to develop a water taxi service to Pleasure Beach. The money was approved in 2009, and the water taxi project has not yet launched.
Pleasure Beach has a long history of seaside entertainment, providing a nature experience for an extremely urban city.
John Brunner's website shows him pontificating against a verdant, tree-filled backdrop.
Bridgeport, CT is tree-challenged.
We've been dissed on Family Guy for smokestack issues:
Ghost Adventures has investigated one of our many haunted and abandoned factories.
Bridgeport is a city with massive financial issues. The bridge which used to access Pleasure Beach collapsed years ago, leaving the only remaining natural seacoast area inaccessible to city residents.
I don't know the history of why Claire McCaskill has taken Bridgeport under her wing, but thank goodness she has.
Bridgeport is surrounded by wealthy, seacoast towns such as Westport, Darien, Southport, Greenwich and Stamford - all of whom have beautiful beaches available to town residents.
Why is this Missouri Republican picking on Bridgeport?
