Good Morning Kossacks and Welcome to Morning Open Thread (MOT)
We're known as the MOTley Crew and you can find us here every morning at 6:30 Eastern. Feel free to volunteer to take a day - permanently or just once in awhile. With the auto-publish feature you can set it and forget it. Sometime, the diarist du jour shows up much later, that's the beauty of Open Thread...it carries on without you! Just let us know in the comments. You can click on the Morning Open Thread "heart" if you'd like us to show up in your stream every day.
Doing one of these diaries is a good way to get your feet wet if you have been hesitant about writing a diary. You can write as much or as little as you want. The audience here is always supportive.
Yikes! Is it Thursday already and I have a diary to do? Maybe a diary is not as important as what you have on your mind. I think what you have to say is far more important.
As some of you already know, my husband and I live part time in North Carolina and the rest of the time in our home state of Florida. Yesterday we did our annual trek back to Tallahassee for several months. The drive is a long one but we have a route down that normally keeps us off the Interstates as much as possible.
However, yesterday was the exception. My mother in law had spent Christmas with my husband's sister and her family in an area outside Atlanta. My husband's brother had driven her up there before Christmas. So on our way back to Tallahassee, we made a side trip to pick up my mother in law to take her back to Tallahassee.
What this meant was having a very nice noon time meal with my sister in law and family, and then continuing our trek back via more than a desired number of miles on the Interstates. We got into Tallahassee about 7 pm very tired, and so this morning open thread intro diary will be very short.
FYI for eeff, all dogs made it through the mountains without getting carsick. Our route of choice is very curvy, but we love it for its beauty. Gidget had gotten carsick in the past but she sailed through it very well.
I hope to be up in time to tend this diary, but if not, I hope everyone will feel free to post whatever is on your mind. That is what the Morning Open Thread is all about.
