Imagine you were born in 1992.
You're 19 years old again! Well, contain your excitement...
Nearly half your life was spent under the Bush II regime. The country has been at war since you were nine years old. The banks and their Republican friends put the economy in the freezer when you were starting your sophomore year in high school. And as you walked out of school for the last time this spring, you gazed out over the still-frozen landscape of the "American Dream."
You don't see many Help Wanted signs. You've never really known life without the Westboro Baptist Church. You watch helplessly as a bunch of "pro-lifers" pound their chests and execute prisoner after prisoner without concern. And you watched with disbelief as an out-of-control governor in Wisconsin arrogantly spit on the rights of workers.
Could you blame a 19 year-old for wanting to take on Louie Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World?"
Well, Danielle has.
I think it takes some nerve to rebut one of the iconic songs of the American repertoire armed only with a Mac and Garageband.
I think it kicks ass. Seriously kicks ass.
Danielle is a young singer-songwriter from northern Wisconsin. She recorded this song two days ago, and put together the slideshow for it today.
You're among the first to hear it and view it! Enjoy!
