So, the day has finally come upon us. In a matter of hours, this old site will disappear, and we will enter the era of Daily Kos 4.0. It's like waiting for the New Year's ball drop, just without the confetti.
But before we leave, let's sit back and remember the adventures we had here at DKos 3.0.
Compared to some of our diarists, I'm still new to DKos. There are some who've been around since dailykos.net, or even earlier, at markosmusings.org*. We've had our highlights ("Dear Socialist Fuckstick") and our lowlights (Rand Paul troll and Research 2000). We made news, contested elections, fought the right-wing blowhards, and flexed the political muscles no one thought we had.
And now it's time to do it all over again. For those who are scared and nervous of this change, remember: We are progressives, and we are never afraid of change. As for myself, I expect to be here 20 years later, living in DC, maybe with a wife and kids, and still coming here every day to read the latest GOP idiocy and the next political fight we face.
I can't predict the future, but here's some of the headlines I can only hope to see on the front:
"Marriage for all, at last"
"Franken signs universal health care into law"
"Palin still contempleting presidential run"
So I hope you come on the site, look around, reminisce about what got you on this site in the first place, and remember: Tomorrow is always a brighter day.
