I'm not angry. Not at all. I'm happy as a pig in shit that The Great Orange Crush ate my work. Of course I saved the original in Word, but I always improve the first draft after I've pasted it into a diary. Maybe it's a sign from the Universe that it sucked. After all, I did mention (at some length) that I had a root canal on Monday and a friend of mine died on Tuesday. Such things are better dealt with in another Group, so I've started over.
Hey, the first song linked above? When I got the URL from YouTube, there was no problem viewing it and over 46,000,000 people had done so. Within an hour, YouTube had given it an R rating and you have to dance through hoops to prove you're a grown-up and are allowed to see it. Here's the family-friendly Muppet version. I revised the original lyrics of the chorus to suit Gulf Watchers' needs:
Fuck BP
We see you drilling deep down
In the Gulf we love and we’re like,
Fuck you! Oo, oo, ooo
I guess the wealth in your pocket
Isn't enough, we’re like, Fuck you!
And fuck Shell too!
I said, if I was a Bagger, I'd still be with ya
Ha, now ain't that some shit? (ain't that some shit?)
And yes there's pain in my heart
And I wish you’d depart with a...
Fuck you! Oo, oo, ooo
I hope you're in the mood for food. I made comfort food for us tonight: soft, ripe brie with pears and French bread; Yankee pot roast; macaroni and cheese made according to the America's Test Kitchen recipe; roasted okra and eggplant tempura; heaps of sweets...corn pudding, tapioca pudding, cherry chocolate bread pudding, raspberry pound cake with buttercream icing, pear gellato. For drinks, there's wine, hot chocolate, and, imported from France, some orange Pschitt.
Massage is available in the back room, and the hot tub's on (clothing optional for both). Please leave your orange shoes in the trash bin. You can always get more at the creamsicle website.
A little music with a lot of duende (h/t Phil)...
Wynton Marsalis: Portrait of Louis Armstrong
Gipsy Kings: Djobi Djoba. Notice the lovely set.
Libertango (Astor Piazolla): This version is for the dancing.
Libertango: This version is for watching Yo Yo Ma.
Snag some eats and a bevvie and tell us how life's been treating you this week/month/year. Or just be silly. Giddy is good for ya!
