A very short diary to all those people fighting for rights in Wisconsin. I was a soldier, have dated a teacher, and am now in nursing school. I know the benefits of the government making sure these vital occupations happen, such as schools and fire departments. Hell, the majority of the women in my class (2 guys, 26 women) date either farmers (yes, the get subsidies), firefighters, or cops.
This is not about a balanced budget, I know it, you know it, they know it, but the game is to distract, divide, and then conquer. Luckily, those people have said enough is enough, and the fact that all those D. state senators left the state is the best news I have heard since the last election. Means back bone, means grit. Maybe this is the kick we need as progressives, as liberals, as freaking Americans, to wake up and see this stoogery of a government we have. Owned and operated by banks for banks.
This video goes out to all those people sitting in, fighting for their rights.
The video is a hard rock band called Skillet, and the song's name is "Hero". I encourage you to watch it and notice that the heroes they sing about are nurses, firefighters, and soldiers. Government is the problem my ass.
