Ode to Madison WI Protests
Our feet are blistered
Our shoes are worn
Our voices are horse
Our banners are torn.
We gather in groups
We gather in fear
We gather to listen
We gather to cheer.
Seven have buoyed us
By giving us time.
We've offered the money
The response is a crime.
We understand money
We understand sharing,
But our snide Governor
Calls it a red herring
He insults our heroes,
Saying they are not working
While we all know that
It is he who is shirking.
Our State Budge was due
But Scott can't face the critique,
So he begged for more time
And was given one more week.
An example of what he is
And how he runs his life,
A spoiled drop out who whines
To deflect his failures and strife.
While the middle class waits,
Those who worked for their dreams,
The nurses, the workers, the teachers,
Those who coached your kids teams.
We wait and we hope for just 3 more
Heroes, that is, to even the score.
