Friday, the New York Times reported that Judith Regan taped Roger Ailes telling her to lie to Federal Investigators about Bernard Kerik.
Today, the Business Insider quotes an anonymous source reporting that Roger Ailes will be indicted, perhaps as soon as Monday:
Here's financial commentator Barry Ritholtz:
Someone I spoke with claimed that Ailes was scheduled to speak at their event in March, but canceled. It appears that Roger’s people, ostensibly using a clause in his contract, said he “cannot appear for legal reasons.”
I asked “What, precisely, does that mean?”
The response: “Roger Ailes will be indicted — probably this week, maybe even Monday.”

So, I hate to be a buzzkill, but this Roger Ailes indictment rumor reminds me of that Valerie Plame rumor of a few years ago that Patrick Fitzgerald was going to indict Karl Rove in "24 business hours." Feds don't put together an indictment that quickly, so, unless they've been building this case for months prior to Friday's NYT story, I just don't see this happening. And that's not even getting into the statute of limitations challenges to such a prosecution.
It is fun to think about though. . .
