Who would DARE to do this?

Is this the result of our new "community"?  Sharing...and all that crap?

I do not know these people.  

I have never contacted them.

  The only place they might have gotten my e-mail address is through this site.

Is a list of progressive subscribers being sold?  Handed out, for free?  Or is security so lax that anyone can get personal information about any of us, any damned time they choose?

I received the following message, which was personalized with my first name:

Hi XXXXXX,
I just posted on Daily Kos about Wisconsin Senator Chris Larson's message to our members.
Can you please read and "recommend" so others see the video?

No, I will not.  And, I wish to add that I find it highly improper to receive e-mails at my personal address from people whom I do not know, and to whom I have not released that information.  Remove me from your data base, at once, and do not repeat this egregious violation of my privacy.

The following addendum was enclosed:

I am furious!  My e-mail address is only given to those with whom I choose to have an exchange - NOT to anyone who wants to solicit me for any reason they might think "important".
