OK, here at the start, I might sound like a bit of a cry baby, but I'm truly only being about 10% cry baby. I'm really truly looking for honest constructive civil useful feedback. So, let's get the "10% stuff" over with first!
I've noticed diary presence/participation/whatever has really dropped off. When I was doing the Countdown diaries, I'd usually get around 100 comments each night - or at least average that over a week. Now? I'm lucky to get half that, and would just like some ideas as to why. Is it people still getting used to DK4? Is it because the diary's later? Is it because Rachel Maddow's not Keith Olbermann? Well, I can't really do anything about Rachel not being Keith, and I can't really do anything about the show time unless I go sparkin' live every night, and doing that would fry what little's left of my brain. If it's people still getting used to DK4, I can try to help with that a little, but I'm fairly darn tech stoopid. So, any feedback, constructive criticism, suggestions, etc. are welcome PLEASE!
It's time to get historical with "this day in history" - including an appearance for THE cake!! :D On this date in 1861, delegates from six southern states met in Montgomery, AL to form the Confederate States of America. And, ya' know what? If those state are still just dyin' to be their own country again, LET THEM!
On this date in 2004, the Massachusetts high court declared that homosexual couples were entitled to marry. I've been to MA a few times since then, and ya' know what? It's still there - no fire, no brimstone, no rivers full of blood, NOTHIN'! ;D And, as a participant in an opposite marriage, letting loving long - term homosexual couples get married is no threat to my opposite marriage.
Finally, former Vice President Dan Quayle turns 64 years old today. Do I really REALLY need to go into all the reasons why he's entitled to this tasty treat with the invitation to GO CHENEY HIMSELF?!
In all fairness to Danny Boy, he does look like he should be in MENSA compared to $aint $arah from Wasilla, but the reason why Danny earns the THE cake honor can be summed up here.
That pairing from just south of heavan is actually the perfect transition to SPARK. ;D Those squeamish about dental stuff probably better avoid this story. I thought the dentist from Little Shop of Horrors got eaten by the big 'ol plant! Just take a wild guess about which part of the country has the highest percentage of its citizens with diabetes? BUT, they still talk about the Civil War like it was yesterday, so they've got THAT goin' for 'em. {sigh} I really miss Hunter S. Thompson. Finally, we'll end SPARK with a moment of "AAAAaaaaWWWWwwww - teh cute! It burnz!!"
On with The Rachel Maddow Show!
"Wisconsin Wins!" AKA "It's Not About the Budget" - Really? Huh...go figure. Governor Scotty's begun to cave? Yet another poll indicates growing displeasure with said Governor, and he's just making friends all over the place, it sounds like! 3 GOBP WI Senators have told Governor Scotty to negotiate & compromise?! $HIT! Maybe, WI really is winning! :D WI Dems are still in a non - beach non - WI location, but emails indicate Governor Scotty just might be shaking in his badgers a bit. ;D Dems still aren't ready to trust Gov. Scotty, though; gee, I can't imagine why. We got a review from Rachel concerning why all these shenanigans in WI has never been nor never will be about the budget. A whole bunch of GOBP Governors made state - of - the - state addresses over the last couple of days, and they're all singing the same bat$hit tune. The Governor of MI want to raise taxes on senior citizens, poor people, and those who want to donate to public education.
"It's Not About the Budget Part Deux" AKA "The Interview" - The GOBP in MI wants to cut aid to cities & towns A LOT. Any town or school district could be declared to be in a "financial emergency". A person from the state could swoop in to take charge & strip union rights away AND get rid of elected officials. Oh well, that whole voting thing & democratic process thing can be a pain in the a$$.
A corporation could be designated as the "swooping in person." YAHOO! *&^%$#@! Naomi Klein is talking shock doctrine in respect to all these GOBP Governors & state legislators. President Reagan with the air traffic controllers ended Communism in the former Soviet Union? Huh...don't remember learning that in my abundant number of history classes, and I wasn't absent very often if ever, so I wouldn't have missed it had it been covered. ;D Naomi really hearts the WI protesters - on Wisconsin, indeed! :D
"What's More Embarrassing?" - I don't wanna top Alan Simpson's green weenie!!! THAT, boys & girls, is cruel & unusual punishment!!!! He trashed senior citizens on FAUX News & chatted up the enema man & snoopy snoopy poop dogg. Well, I dont' like rap music either but damn! ;D Another token FAUX News blonde employee thinks fighting over a parking space just might be justified. ;D I think the FAUX News blonde "wins" the prize!
"Buyer's Remorse" - The 1 thing the WI state legislators CAN agree on is their UW football team. Well, that's SOMETHING! The RNC website is all about stopping President Obama's "union bosses." The new RNC chair has done all he can to hitch their wagon to Governor Scotty's star. Hell, maybe Michael Steele can get that RNC chair gig back after all! AND, here he is!! Is it just me, or does Mr. Steele look way more relaxed these days now that he's not in charge of the RNC anymore? Governor Scotty's rep all over the country is right down the terlet; I'm crying a river! ;D
Mikey Steele called the WI Dems wimps? CLASSY!
* Michael Moore's going to be on Rachel's show this week? Oh goody. *
"Buyer's Remorse Part Deux" - If Micheal Steele had still be in charge at the RNC, he would've touted Governor Scotty, too, but would've done it sooner. Well, HE'S learned a lot since he was sacked, yes?
AND, he insists all this WI stuff IS all about the budget. Rachel, PLEASE nail him on that score!!
The FAUX News @itch "won" the Most Embarrassing prize! :D
