I really enjoyed the Congressional Progressive Caucus diary yesterday and I have a few suggestions on how to make it better. First, a huge thank you to all the Congressmen/woman who participated. It was amazing to see us ordinary folks be able to actually interact with the Congressperson's.
Here are my suggestions for making this exchange even better.
1. Before the diary, have the Congressional Progressive Caucus post a preview diary of who is attending. This will give everyone a chance to see who will be answering questions.
2. Have someone from DailyKos post a diary asking for questions. I know there was concern that some members would not be able to attend due to work and other obligations. I understand that CPC is going vary the times to allow everyone to participate.
3. Have members post questions to that diary and other members can recommend the questions that they would most liked asked. The top 20 question would then been our "official questions"
4. When the Congressional Progressive Caucus diary goes up, have the first 20 comments be the top recommended questions. We would ask members not to post comments until these questions were posted. The various Congressmen/women could then answer the question posted.
5. Have replies to the question ONLY be about that question so members could post follow up questions.
6. All ad hoc comments/questions/snark/rude comments could then be added to the rest of thread.
I think this would make for an easier reading format.
Also it would be great if Congressional Progressive Caucus could start the diary by posting the weeks/month's talking points. They could also give us a status report of what has happen with their budget/bills/etc.
What do you think? Any suggestions?
