The point at which its time to go get the musket off the mantle and assemble in the town common has arrived.
A mean ugly blonde in an FBI sweatshirt arrives in your driveway with a bulldozer and steals your basketball hoop that has been there sixty years because she doesn't think you have the right to peacefully assemble in the streets?
At first I thought this was some kind of April Fools joke but if so they have gone too far and just sort of triggered all the pent up frustration and aggression and hostility I feel about their taking away the collective bargaining rights of unions, and of teachers to collect their pensions that they have paid for, and of the elderly to collect their social security and the healthcare from sick people who will die without it and education and school lunches from kids and foodstamps for the poor who will end up homeless and starving.
I see the people of the Mideast, Asia, Europe and Oceanasia in the streets. In Britain 250,000, In Afghanistan 20,000 in a murderous rage. In Japan hundreds of thousands homeless, trying to find their dead, without food, clothing or shelter and fearful that their government is lying to them about the danger of radiation.
In Tripoli, Egypt, Libya, Syria, Jordan, Yemen, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Darfur, Somalia, Thailand, Burma, Cambodia there is revolution and rebellion. People are in the Streets in the Americas and in Africa. In Libya they are going up against tanks with rifles; Even here in the midwest and southeast of the US and in Canada we the people are pissed off and doing what we can. In Wisconsin they have started with the recalls and indefinite court injuctions. Elsewhere there are referendums.
This takes the cake however. This is the straw that brusts my balls and breaks my back. This is as much of an attack on what it is to be an American as I can imagine. State officials taking peoples basketball hoops off their lawns is just wrong in so many ways

This is what it has come to, anything that you thought was good or great about America Republicans have attempted to destroy; our reputation in the world for coming to the aid of those who need us, fledgling democracies, freedom fighters, those who have suffered disasters or who are hungry and poor; our guarantees of religious freedom, presumption of innocence, freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures; taking somebody's basketball hoop from their front yard is nothing if it isn't an unreasonable seizure; I have been talking to friends and family about this and I think a consensus is building that what Republicans are trying to do is make us hate our government, Federal State and Local, so that when they destroy it or refuse to fund it we won't be in any hurry to get it back, and then they can let their unregulated corporate sponsors loose to rape loot and pillage as they see fit.
