Fag

Hi, was just wondering what you thought about the word Fag.

I grew up on the beaches of California, and as a surfer, a fag was not only the type of guy to like other guys, but just anyone who got in the way of the truth or what was right in the moment for all concerned. If a bunch of surfers were in a group and someone was being selfish, or not truthful, someone else might retort, "You fag--shut up."

Oh course I grew up, and of course I don't see guys who like guys as "fag" but just guys who likes guys. I've read some prefer to be called "fag." Cool, whatever, but I never lost my sense of "fag" in the sense of someone doing or saying something stupid. When I see someone say something untrue, or worse, half true, on TV or in the public sphere, I get the gestalt "fag."

What do you think? Is that wrong? Should we transform the word fag into meme of someone standing in way of truth or what is best for all concerned?
