Friends, I don’t know about you, but I reached a saturation point concerning the Birthers a long time ago. At first, I thought they would simply go away after a short period of spouting off this bit of vicious neo-con propaganda. However, the opposite has been true. Now almost half of the Republican Party agrees with the Birther claim that President Obama is not an American citizen by birth; and, therefore, not our legitimate President. Enter Donald (the Tramp) Trump – the King of Bankruptcies – and now the Birther Movement has been given a new burst of malevolent energy.
Folks, it’s not that the Birther claim cannot be debunked; because it can, and it has been over and over again during the last few years. Indeed, there have been thousands and thousands of certified Obama birth certificates which have been requested from the Hawaiian Department of Vital Statistics over the last few years and subsequently widely dispersed around the country. In fact, there have been so many birth certificate requests over that time period that the State of Hawaii has had to add new employees just to service the high demand for Obama birth certificates. Understandably, they have also significantly raised the fee for an Obama birth certificate.
I also know that all the major news networks have requested those certified copies. Yet, to my knowledge, only MSNBC has actively tried to debunk the Birther claim. So my question is: why haven’t the other news networks and news programs done the same –including “60 Minutes” and even Fox News?
Also, don’t you think that the RNC has had for a long time a certified copy of the Obama birth certificate?
Yet there are more records that prove the live birth of President Obama in Hawaii on August 4, 1961. Microfilm copies of the hospital birth records, I believe, have also been made available publicly.
Then there were the two local newspapers which reported the birth within ten days after same. It wasn’t President Obama’s parents – or grandparents – who caused that to happen. By law and custom, it was the local health officials who were responsible for that reporting of live births to the local newspapers. Yeah, that’s how it worked and still works in all fifty states, including Hawaii back in August of 1961.
Additionally, on July 28, 2009, Hawaii Health Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino issued a statement saying, "I ... have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen." (Hawaii reasserts Obama 'natural-born' citizen," MSNBC, July 28, 2009.)
You know, in most states, a judge in a court case would be legally obliged to take judicial notice of a certified birth certificate as proven fact, which would not be subject to contrary evidence.
Still, there are separate reasons (which most people are not aware of) why this birth controversy is such an incredible sham, and they are as follows:
Under the doctrine of jus sanguinis, (natural citizenship by blood birth right), if one parent is a U.S. citizen and the other parent is not, the child is a citizen if the U.S. citizen parent has been "physically present" in the U.S. before the child's birth for a total period of at least five years, and at least two of those five years were after the U.S. citizen parent's fourteenth birthday (8 U.S.C. § 1401).
Well, is there any doubt that Obama's natural mother fulfilled the two and the five year residency requirements set forth above? Of course, she did.
Additionally, even children born abroad to unwed mothers (Of course, President Obama was not an illegitimate child.) are likewise considered non-naturalized citizens by birth. Indeed, Title 8 U.S.C. § 1409 paragraph (c) provides that children born abroad after December 24, 1952 to unmarried American mothers are U.S. citizens, as long as the mother has lived in the U.S. for a continuous period of at least one year at any time prior to the birth.
By the way, Congress certainly has plenary power to grant citizenship beyond what is specifically set forth in the United Sates Constitution (see: the 1924 Indian Citizenship Act (43 U.S. Stats. At Large, Ch. 233, p. 253 (1924) and 8 U.S.C sections 1401 et. seq.)
Very importantly, on July 27, 2009, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H. Res. 593, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Hawaii's statehood, including the text: "Whereas the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961." The vote passed 378-0.[78] (House Vote On Passage: H. Res. 593: Recognizing and celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the...House Vote On Passage: H. Res. 593.) Again, this vote passed by 378 to 0. Indeed, more than a handful of Republicans had voted “aye” on this particular Congressional resolution.
Therefore, Congress has officially said that President Obama “was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961.” To be sure, this specific Congressional vote made President Obama’s Hawaiian birth on August 4, 1061 “the resolve of the land.” Friends, what more need be said on this subject?
You know, after setting forth all this conclusively persuasive evidence, you often hear these Birthers say something like: “Prove to me that Obama wasn’t born somewhere else.” Yep, they actually demand that the President or his supporters prove an impossible negative.
So what is this really about? Well, the answer is now self-evident: These Birthers are RABID RACISTS of the first order. Make no mistake about that. So when we hear that someone is a Birther, or agrees with the Birther claim, we should take that as poorly disguised language (KKK-like code words) that they are die-hard race baiters and bigots.
Now, becoming a Birther or buying into the Birther cause has actually become a litmus test for the Tea Party in order for it to support a particular Republican candidate.
Ironically, however, it is also a litmus test for everyone else as well. For sure, you can bet that anyone who admits to being a Birther, or who believes this preposterous Birther claim, is truly a racist. At least, there is an incredibly high probability of same being true. Again, nearly half of the Republican Party now subscribe to the Birther notion. Yep, the Ku Klux Klan is alive and well today in the Grand Old Party.
Well, friends, I have come to the point where I simply call them racists to their faces; and I also add that they should “go straight to hell.” I hope you will do the same. Enough is enough already.
You know, these Birthers - and these Birther supporters - should take the time to view on one of the science or one of the Discovery channels a documentary called: “The Real Eve.” In doing that, I know they would undoubtedly learn a helluva lot about themselves and their real roots.
