As far as the smoking is concerned, I'm good. Our trip to NY ended on Wednesday, last week and our drive back to Florida was pretty nice.
I managed to get through all the family business without a cigarette of course and even though I was surrounded sometimes with smokers, I had no desire. I do have to say this though..
There was such an interesting situation that occurred that I have to share. We had a family reunion of sorts and wine and finger foods were served. about 35 people were there and many of them were smokers. My niece for one. I had poured myself a short glass of sangria and left it on the table for a minute and when I got back there was what looked like someone else's glass in it's place with more wine and some ice cubes in it. I picked it up and my niece, a smoker said, "I thought that was mine so I had some, put in some ice and more sangria, take it, all I did is pour in some more and added ice" so I took it. When I put the glass up to my face to drink it, the stench of smoke came up my nose. It was trapped in the wine and I swear, never in the history of my quitting or having been smoke free have I ever smelled anything so putrid. I thought there was something wrong with me and called my husband over to make him smell it. Trying to be subtle and sneaky so she wouldn't see me, I handed him the glass and he's a non smoker and said "wow this stinks" and laughed. My curiosity got hold of me and I said WTF did my drinking glasses stink like this when I smoked. He said "you didn't see me sharing any drinks with you did you?" So it just goes to show you, how far down you will go as a smoker to offend anyone at any time without giving it a second thought. I did it all the time. I defended smoking, no one could say a word to me about my habit without a speech about human rights and my rights, etc.
My husband in his own sneaky way said to me " do you want this stuff" I said "NO" he took the glass and turned it sideways into the ground, walked away with it and threw it in the garbage.
