My thoughts on the end of the world.
Be there or be square.
Transcript on the flip:
Well today is Wednesday.
Two days before the end of the world according to Harold Camping.
And I’m asking myself what is so horrible about this world that the giver of all good and perfect things wants to destroy it?
What is so horrible about this creature we call humanity, that god wants to wipe it from the face of the earth and save only a few out of it?
What kind of a monster would think of a god like that? What kind of a human being could live with a god likes that?
I see all these people, I guess some of them are good and some of them are bad and most of them are just in the middle. I guess they are fairly like me, so I guess that means they all have failings and they all have qualities and it would be wrong for me will the destruction of any one of the individuals here unless of course there were a danger to others.
Why would the supreme will the destruction of almost everybody. If they’re flawed then why doesn't he fix them? Why would he throw them away?
So I’m wrapped in beauty and I’m seeing humanity and I’m seeing human progress at all looks mighty damn fine from here.
So unless it looks a lot different from up there, why would somebody want to bring it to an end?
Now I realize this is not representative of most human existence.
And that a beautiful day in Seattle is a fairly rare occurrence.
That most of us are living at a pinnacle all of a wealth that few of us will ever achieve.
But nonetheless, this is how good it can get and it ain’t so bad.
Who would want to end it, and for what purpose?
This shows how good it can get, how good it can be, for all of us, if we do it right, if we apply our reason to the situation, we can change, we can make humanity better, what kind of monster would destroy it?
Who would will it so?
So why would some among us rejoice in a day when humanity would come to an end, when this world as we know it would come to an end?
