Fair enough.
But I think Mr. Moore is receiving the wrong message about why bin Laden was killed. He believes that we killed the terrorist leader out of some sort of blood lust and sense of revenge; that somehow we are now playing by the rules the terrorists have set up.
That is just not true.
Simply put, I think bin Laden was killed because the mission was very dangerous and the Navy Seals most likely didn't have a whole lot of time to decide if bin Laden posed a real threat or not. I am guessing that the shooter probably made a split second decision to kill him. Had he had a few hours to think about it, maybe bin Laden would have been captured alive.
So anyone who is saying that bin Laden was killed because he deserved no less is wrong. That would be blood lust.
But those who think bin Laden should have been captured alive, no matter how many Navy Seals died in the process, are also way off base.
Again, bin Laden was killed because the mission was very dangerous and unfortunately criminals do not always get to explain themselves when the lives of law enforcement personnel (or Navy Seals, in this case) are on the line.
