As I sit in my office near the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Bridge, looking out towards the Manhattan Bridge, behind me, if I were up a few floors and on the other side of the building, I might be able to see the iconic image of America's welcome out there in the harbor, the one that Sarah Palin is visiting today.

I love it, and love imagining my grandfather as he returned from France in 1919 on a troopship, minus a leg, staring misty-eyed at the statute.
